New personal site finally online

New personal site finally online

After paying for a web hosting for nearly 20 years now, its main use was mostly emails, domains parking and hosting some sites for non-tech savvy friends. I had up until now never invested any personal time or energy into making myself an official web site that would shed me professional light on my gaming career. Not that I felt I needed any more visibility, but I thought it’d be refreshing to finally take time to cleanup some aspect of my tech life: this one being my own web site. Who hasn’t made themselves a web site at some point in time in their life? Up until now, I dabbed into it for professional reasons, but always neglected my personal domains.

Long story short, I recently moved to a new web hosting company based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and it is quite speedy compared to what I’m used to. That might also have acted as a potential motivator… who knows really? Anyway, this site will hopefully represent me and highlight my experience and career evolution.

Making this project a weekend priority, I’ve finally invested time into making it happen. I mean, it’s not long or technically challenging by any mean, but rather that I suck at web design and I’m no artist. So, I got myself a basic template, a WordPress install, and here I went! I’ve added my resume, some personal testimonies directly from my LinkedIn profile – that reminds me, I’m due to ask for new ones. Most dates back from Deus Ex and when I left Ubisoft through the pandemic, not being able to see any of my coworkers for an official goodbye. This is still on my todo list once time allows it.

Will the blog section ever take off? I’m not quite sure, truth be told. It might never take off as I’m not much of a blogger; nevertheless, I liked the idea of expressing my thoughts in the event it might be relevant for some. And since I’m not much on social network guy, that might be used as my expression board.

With a big weekend, I’ll wish you all some great family time, and stay tuned for more content!
